Introduction to Adventure in Being
 

 
 

 

            There are five basic elements to Adventure in Being (plus two add-ons).  The elements are anchored to a letter in the word B-E-I-N-G. 

            The first step, "Be Still", represents the basic approach to meditation and is the most important.  The remaining steps I refer to as metatation (meta means beyond as in metaphysics and transformation as in metamorphosis).  These steps go beyond (and build upon) the basic level of meditation, "Be Still."

 

B BE STILL

            Relax Body – relax all muscles of the body and drain all stress and tension

            Attention Breathing – place full attention on the rhythm of breathing; be in this moment

            Enter Stillness – be suspended in time and space; be in total peace, harmony, and Being

 

E EMPOWERMENT (ANDY is an acronym to remember these steps)

            A – Ancestors & Advocates – receive the gifts of your ancestors and advocates

            N – Natures Embrace – mentally go to nature and bask in her restorative powers

            D – Divine Touch – reach to your Higher Power and receive the loving touch

            Y – Youth Promise & Passion – restore youthful dreams and the inner child

 

I INNER META-JOURNEY

            M Mission – Personal Calling – remember or discover the purpose you are to fill

          E – Emerge the Message – listen to answers, solutions, creativity & inspiration within

          T – Transcend Basic Needs – move beyond the motivation of basic needs to meta-needs

          A – Activate Spiritual DNA (Divine Nucleus Ablaze) – recognize, expand, be filled with light

 

N NOTICE NOW! – throughout each day, maintain attention on the present, holy instant

           

G GIVE the GIFT – to each person in your universe of influence, give your gift

 

           

PS-1 – PHYSICAL SOUNDNESS – the doctor is in!

            Add-on #1.  Significant research is being done on the extraordinary health benefits of meditation.  This segment deals with improving health from the inside out.  Receive the inner doctor's counsel & prescription on: eating & exercise, stress-less living, pain and healing.

 

PS-2 – PROMPT SLEEP

            Add-on #2.  Recent research documented that the majority of Americans have difficulty getting a full night of restful sleep.  An aspect of metatation that can help is deactivation.

 

            It is not essential you learn all the above components, though I recommend it.   However, the first one, "Be Still" is a necessary prerequisite for any of the other components.
